It’s hard not to read about COVID-19. Everywhere you turn, the devastating news of what this pandemic is doing to lives and businesses around the world is there. Obviously, it’s really important that we keep ‘in the know’ when it comes to the latest updates, but can being constantly reminded do you more harm than good?

As a business owner, of course, you need to keep in touch with the economy. That goes without saying and on a personal level, you need to know how to keep yourself safe, but at what point do you switch yourself off and just focus on the positive?

My last few posts have been about the pandemic. It’s hard not to write about it when around the clock it’s on your mind.

If you are running a small to medium sized business, unfortunately, you could be the one’s who are most affected. You have more than likely had to adapt very quickly to a very rapidly changing situation. To keep afloat, you have felt the need to change your business direction and offer a new product or service. Alternatively, what you offer, may now have become so high in demand that you simply can’t keep up.

The Virtual Assistant industry has seen a rise in requirement. This is due to both sides of the coin, where those businesses that have had to change direction, may have had to lay off full time staff due to financial reasons, but they still need that little bit of flexible, affordable help. Those that have increased in demand have needed extra support to keep the back end of the business going.

My point to this post is really about mindset. 2020 has been a really tough year for everyone, but you can make it easier for yourself if you have a positive outlook. There is help available for anyone who is struggling, whether that’s in business or your own personal health and well-being.

Having too much time on your hands, or not enough, to think productively could cause more damage than the actual virus itself. So take some time to pause…. breathe….re-evaluate. We may not be able to control a worldwide crisis but we can gain some control and clarity of our minds.

Believe it or not, you are the one that can direct what you want your ‘new normal’ to be.

When you take that time to pause, what are you thinking about? Are you stuck at a crossroads? Would you find it beneficial to talk through some options about your business that could help you change direction, or keep on your existing path, but with a little extra help?

Just something to think about, until next time…

Stay safe, stay healthy, stay positive.
